Stateline Veteran Receives Kitchen Remodel from Home Depot

ROCKFORD (WIFR) – A Rockford business is finishing up a dream kitchen for a Stateline veteran.

While visiting Rex and Carolyn Peppers’ home in Machesney Park last fall, associates from the Rockford Home Depot learned of an issue with the flooring that caused Rex to trip and fall. When the EMT’s tried to take him out on a gurney, they couldn’t fit through the door due to the refrigerator. The store decided to help out by remodeling the kitchen for free.

The store paid for the kitchen remodel through a $ 9,000 grant from the Home Depot Foundation.
