Lowe’s Home Improvement won’t be building in Klamath Falls
News from Herald and News:

Posted: Friday, May 25, 2012 1:30 pm | Updated: 11:30 pm, Fri May 25, 2012.

After three land-use permit extensions and almost four years of waiting for the local economy to show signs of recovery, Lowe’s Home Improvement has decided to abandon construction plans for a store on Shasta Way in Klamath Falls.

The 9.8 acre undeveloped lot is now for sale.

“A number of factors required us to re-evaluate our plans, and Lowe’s has decided not to move forward with store development,” said Natalie Turner from Lowe’s Public Relations. “The real estate process can be long and complex, and our goal is always to build the best store on the best site for our customers while also considering our shareholders. This was the right business decision for Lowe’s.”

Turner would not elaborate on the specific factors that lead to Lowe’s decision.
