Menards breaks ground on home improvement store near Ann Arbor

Washtenaw County is set to get a new big-box home improvement store in spring 2015.

Wisconsin-based Menards broke ground in June on a 242,000-square-foot store with a drive-thru lumberyard on the southeast corner of Jackson and Staebler roads in Scio Township. The property is fenced off and construction equipment is on-site.

“The pad is under construction. We have all of our building permits and it’s going vertical,” said Menards spokesman Tom O’Neil.

Brian Curylo makes in appearance in court, Sept. 201.

BRISTOL, Conn. (WTNH) — Police in Bristol have arrested a man for a handful of home improvement violations.

Brian Curylo had been the focus of a police investigation weeks prior for fraudulently soliciting elderly people to provide home repairs.

On Monday, officers were dispatched to Geary Avenue because of a report that Curylo was working on a driveway.

When they arrived Curylo was charged with offering home improvement without a license and failure to provide notice of cancellation of rights along with several other charges.

He’ll be in court later this month.
