A contractor from Lower Makefield will spend the next 15 to 30 years in a state prison for theft and deceptive business practices. 

“You have taken money from children not yet born,” Bucks County Common Pleas Court Judge Diane E. Gibbons told the 59-year-old Succi on Friday, the county district attorney’s office said in a prepared statement.

The county called the Succi case “one of the largest home-improvement fraud prosecutions to be brought in Pennsylvania.”

Succi was convicted Dec. 12 of 27 felonies, including home improvement fraud, theft by deception, deceptive business practices and insurance fraud.

“His crimes spanned nearly a decade, during which Succi repeatedly signed contracts for renovations, additions and new construction, only to demand more money for shoddy, unfinished work that he typically failed to complete,” the county DA’s statement said. “When customers tried taking him to court, Succi would file for bankruptcy protection, often changing the name of his company to further avoid collection efforts.”…………… continues on The Intelligencer
