Home Improvement Sector Set To Explode? Stifel Weighs In
News from Benzinga:

With focus shifted on tech and biotech companies, Stifel analyst David Schick sees many positives in the home improvement sector. In a report published on February 19, Schick focused specifically on many macro trends that seem to be a greenhouse for home sector growth.

The five macro points to focus on:

  • Mild weather with exception to Northeast snow.
  • Lumber futures prices fell 10 percent past year.
  • Real Private Residential Fixed Investment rose 2.6 percent year-over-year.
  • Existing Home Sales for Q4 up 3 percent.

Home improvement expo hits Ocala
News from WCJB:

OCALA, Fla. – People in Ocala were able to play Tim Allen for a day. Home improvement experts around North Central Florida came together and demonstrated their work Saturday.

Thousands of people looking to upgrade their homes gathered in Ocala at the 7th Annual Home Improvement Expo. Over 60 businesses from around North Central Florida were invited to demonstrate and show off new products.

Managers from On Top of the World say the event started to help contractors find work and allow consumers to get home improvement questions answered.

Nearly 200 people were apart of the event, which is almost double the turnout from last year.

Officials from On Top of the World say the increase in turnout is because the businesses and contractors at the expo are reliable in the community.

“It allows some of our residents and future residents to connect the dots and find out, especially from trustworthy contractors. Sometimes it can be hard to navigate through those waters, so having done this for 30 plus years, we’ve navigated a lot of those waters,” said Jason Tafliger, Director of Sales for On Top of the World.

Prizes and games ended the event.
