Federal Emergency Management Agency specialists this week are offering free tips on rebuilding houses in Hurricane Sandy’s aftermath during visits to home improvement stores throughout the state.

They are addressing topics such as eliminating mold and mildew in a house, understanding storm-resistant building methods and elevating or anchoring utilities.

The FEMA specialists are available every day through Saturday at:

• Cape May County – Lowe’s, 3171 Route 9, Rio Grande (section of Middle Township).
• Hudson County – The Home Depot, 440 Route 440, Jersey City.
• Monmouth County – The Home Depot, 3700 Route 35, Hazlet.
• Ocean County – The Home Depot, 1722 Route 88, Brick.
• Ocean County – Lowe’s, 1375 Hooper Ave., Toms River.
• Ocean County – Lowe’s, 297 Route 72 West, Suite 30, Manahawkin.
• Union County – Lowe’s, 1721 Morris Ave., Union Township.

The specialists will be at the stores from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m., and from 8:30 a.m. to 2 p.m. on Saturday.
